Go Daddy VS. Mark Zuckerberg. Bob Parsons, you’re stupid.

Go Daddy recently sent out an email campaign encouraging users to log on to the LIVE web conference with the "Real" Facebook Founder.

"The "Real" Founder of Facebook.
Months before his classmate Mark Zuckerberg launched Web 2.0 phenomenon Facebook, our guest created the "houseSYSTEM" network, which included, according to a widely circulated email, a feature called "the Face Book." Find out about the launch of his new Web project & who really invented Facebook."

It seems as though GoDaddy supports these claims! They're not just supporting it, they're endorsing it! Stupid move on the part of GoDaddy… First and foremost, the entire case regarding the "real" Facebook inventor is ridiculous. There's more to "inventing" something than conceptual functionality. Perhaps Mark did get the overall concept from somebody else. Well, so what. Assuming this "real" inventor did in fact conceptualize Facebook… obviously he lacked execution, which is rather important.

So, why is GoDaddy endorsing this? Is Bob Parsons stupid? What does GoDaddy have against Facebook? This is a BAD move on the part of GoDaddy. Feathers are getting ruffled and the idea of "no such thing as bad publicity," may be great for exposure, but bad for profits. Upon a little browsing around, it's clear that one thing holds true….

Arrogant Bob Parsons

Domain mogul, and A$$hole, Bob Parsons striking a sexy pose, with a cute little earring.

is it "GoDaddy," or "GayDaddy?"

Until now, GoDaddy was the primary domain vendor for several organizations. Not so much anymore… Bob Parson and GoDaddy made a bad move by getting in between and endorsing a frivolous claim. Ruffling Feathers can be good… but fights need to be picked wisely. Clearly good 'ol Bob let his ego get the best of him this time.

GoDaddy…. great idea with a great business model. Hey, wait a second… I thought of "GoDaddy!" I'm coming after you, Bob!

In conclusion, we say one thing GoFacebook! … and GoAwayDaddy…

  1. Did you even listen to the interview? In no way did Bob Parsons endorse Aaron Greenspan’s claim…yes, he gave him a tool to express his side of the story but that’s all I got out of it. I bet if Mark Zuckerberg was willing to come on BP’s show, he would be glad to have him. To claim that this is Bob’s view just shows that you were too arrogant to listen to the interview….

  2. Arrogant - Nowhere near it… Nonetheless, you might be right… Perhaps BP is a great guy. But judging from the blast email sent, it really suggested that he endorsed the claim. Now, keep in mind, there wasn’t any talk of knowing BP, or knowing the “real” Facebook inventor. This article was clearly built from the email blast and a little bit of digging around… that’s all. As far as Bob Parsons being “Arrogant.” That statement was made for a couple of reasons… He strikes his cute little poses with pretty women hanging on him… then, if you look at any page of the godaddy site, or his blog, count the number of times you read the name “Bob.” It’s only natural somebody would deem BP as an arrogant man. First impressions are the biggest and it’s easy to see how this first impression came to be…

On the other hand… perhaps Bob is a great, innovative, marketing genius and this was just another part of his edgy marketing plan… He’s clearly got our attention, right?

Thanks for the post… in all honesty, thanks for taking time to post…

  3. [...] am somewhat of a well known “Anti-GoDaddy” type person, mostly because I hate the arrogant Bob Parsons. I have a huge, HUGE issue with the way he thinks he is the king of the world. But that [...]
